Master Weight Loss Cleanse/Detox with Detox Lounge San Diego

Since coming back from my holiday vacation I've been wanting to do a detox to reboot my system. I was going through a few emotional and financial situations which really sucked the motivation to detox right out of me. It wasn't until the start of this month where I felt like 'it's time". Last week, after much research, I decided to try the "master weight loss cleanse" by Detox Lounge in San Diego (please note I paid for this myself; this is not a sponsored post)

I chose this detox because I wanted something I wasn't gonna have to prep myself. You can make your own juices and drinks to detox but I felt I would be more successful if everything was taken care of for me. So Detox Lounge prepares everything for you. All I had to do was pick-up my cleanse (you have to pre-order because they prepare everything fresh) and drink it. This cleanse is unlike the "master cleanse" in that it has way more nutritional value.

I purchased the 3-day cleanse. The 3-day cleanse includes 18 bottles of different concoctions (6 bottles per day, 1 bottle every 2 hours). Along with the cleanse you have to drink a lot of water.
Because Monday the 17th was a holiday I decided to do my detox from the 15th-17th (Saturday, Sunday, Monday). I wanted to take full advantage of the day off. It's unrealistic for me to detox while at work. I didn't know what the effects would be, and you should know that everyone's body reacts differently. I share my experience to give you some perspective but if you decide to do a food detox, try it first on a day when you can stay home.

I modified the detox to work for me. I changed the drinking times and also incorporated some food. I chose to start later in the day (10am) and had my last bottle at 8pm (they suggest from 8am-6pm).  I did this because I like to stay up late. I would drink every bottle within 1 hour, and then drink about 8-10 ounces of "flavored" water in the next hour (to prep for the next bottle). I am not a big water drinker so flavored water helps me drink more.  I usually add lemon juice to make it more "fun" to drink.  Also I incorporated light meals.  I knew not eating was not an option for me. I do not like to starve myself.  When I was hungry I ate light.  My detox meals were: garden salad (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, olive oil, a little sea salt), vegetable soup (veggie broth, onions, garlic, and tons of vegetables), and peanut butter on whole wheat bread.  I also had apples and oranges for snacks.

Juice flavors:
*Please visit the Detox Lounge site for list of ingredients*

Tropical Heat - For the "master weight loss cleanse" you have to drink 2 bottles of this. It is VERY spicy. If you do not like spicy foods at all, I would not recommend this cleanse. Cayenne pepper is included as an ingredient for this flavor. I could barely handle it and I like spicy foods. I felt the "heat" as it went down my throat. Thankfully the tingling does subside, and since I was drinking it little by little I adjusted right away. It tastes sweet but the pepper makes it less appealing. I liked this flavor the least.  I couldn't even finish the last bottle by the 3rd day; I was done.

Vitality Splash - Is refreshing, especially after the tropical heat.  It is a light and sweet drink.

Blue-Green goddess - It is very minty.  I knew the drinks weren't going to taste amazing, and I could handle drinking this but after a while it was like drinking mouthwash.

Bloom Berry - Another light drink; I found it less sweet than vitality splash.

Chai Coconut Bliss - The most pleasant of all the drinks, and saved for last.  My only qualm is that I like my chai warm so it was a little weird drinking it cold.  But overall my favorite of the cleanse.

I realized a few things during the cleanse.  I am not as "unhealthy" as I thought I was.  In other words, I didn't really need a detox after all.  I already incorporate a lot of healthy foods in my diet. My body didn't react at all differently from the cleanse.  I did however feel much more energized. I could see myself doing a 1-day cleanse possibly once every 2 months, but I would not do the 3-day again.  I wouldn't recommend this cleanse if you haven't done one before.  This one is at an "intermediate" level.  Or if you've never cleansed before, try it for 1 day to see how you feel and then move up to 3 days.

How to take more action

When is the right time to take action? NOW.

On 1/23/14 I read "The Secret to Success" by Hugh Howey (http://www.hughhowey.com/a-secret-to-success/) and since then have been taking more action every day.  I'm actually amazed at myself.  It usually takes me a while to get things done because I am so used to putting things off; "I'll do it later", "tomorrow". But imagine yourself acting on a thought or idea the moment you receive it.

Checklist

Whether you choose to act today or a week from now, "it" will still get done in the same amount of time. Think about it.  If writing that paper will take you an hour, it'll be an hour of effort whether it's done today or another day, so why put it off?  Taking action right away will give you more opportunities to take even more action, so in essence you're increasing your time. All that time spent procrastinating is filled with worry, anxiety, and it's just a waste.

I decided to try it one day.  It started out simple.  I like to read my emails daily and sometimes there are those which need a response or some kind of attention.  I usually star the emails I want to go back to "later on", so instead of starring them I would address them right away.  I responded to emails, I read what I needed to; it got done.  You know what happened after that?  I started doing more.  I checked more emails, then an idea hit me for an e-book and I started writing it.  Laura sent me an email about a Lifestyle Blogger conference in SoCal and they were offering a scholarship to attend the conference to those who applied.  I could've starred the email to apply another day (the deadline is February 10th). You know what?  I applied as soon as I thought to do it later.  Already I notice my mind and behaviors are shifting.  It feels good to get something done, and the fact that I feel I have more time to do things is awesome.

I would like you to consider this post as a call to action.  Try it with just 1 thing and notice how you feel once your "it" gets done. I urge you to read Hugh's post (this is your first task!). It will change the way you think about taking action.

Pick me! Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Scholarship

The 4th Annual “Lifestyle Bloggers Conference” will be held from March 27th through March 29th in Los Angeles, and I intend to go! The Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Collective is offering full and partial scholarships to attend and I wanna win!

First off, I’ve been writing and blogging since 2010 and I can truly say it is my passion. I firmly believe in following your passions; I took a leap of faith on December 1, 2012 to move out west from New York. I chose to go from east to west in search of better opportunities and a better life over all.

I love sharing lessons learned and experiences gained, so as to provide inspiration and (hopefully) wisdom to those who need it. Attending this conference will help me network with other inspirational leaders in the blogging community, as well as learn how I can really take the work I do and services I provide to the next level. I know I have so much more to offer and would appreciate the opportunity to hear from the experts in the field at #LALLBLOG14.
Please pick me, pretty please (with a cherry on top)?!

If you think I should win show me some love in the comments!

Started the new year with a BANG!

bang bang

Let me start out by saying, it was not a good "bang".  I felt like I was shot down when the new year began.  I ended 2013 on such a high and I expected 2014 to welcome me with open arms. Instead I felt like I was tripped over as I walked into the new year.  I started 2014 with a lot of resistance.  I'm dealing with a lot emotionally right now, and am just trying to sort it all out.

Health-wise, most of my healthy eating habits went out the window in December.  I was stressed preparing for my vacation, then while on vacation I was trying to acclimate to the weather, family, friends, and the stress of the holidays.  I did better than expected with food.  I didn't go overboard at all, but I also wasn't eating as healthy as I would've liked.  Still, I was proud of not pigging out.
Ever since I came back to San Diego I've been on an emotional rollercoaster.  Don't get me wrong, I was happy to be back (especially back to warmer temperatures), but I was missing my loved ones.  I was feeling lonely and vulnerable.  To top it off I felt totally off balance and unsure of what my vision/goals were for 2014.

Financially, I am not where I want to be, but thankfully the clouds have parted and I am beginning to once again feel the abundance flowing.  I started out this year with a lot of fear about money (where was it coming from, will I have enough?).  I was freaked out.  I spent way too much on my trip for the holidays so when I came back it was like a rude awakening.  I prayed on it and decided to let go of the anxiety since it wasn't helping me move forward.  I took action by applying for jobs and contacting my temp coordinator.  A week later I had another temp assignment (this one for 2 months).  RELIEF!  I can once again save up, and this time invest in my future.  I also just filed my taxes and 60% of my refund will be nicely tucked away in savings.  The rest I plan to use for something useful, such as a class, but I'm not sure what for yet.

January was very rocky for me, but the main thing that helped me get through was meditation.  I downloaded a few guided meditation sessions, as well as have a "Meditation" station on Pandora (you can listen to it HERE).  The music helps me relax and I like to have it playing in the background as I'm praying or stating my gratitudes for the day.  Through the 4-week THRIVE COURSE I was taking I was able to determine what my main focus for 2014 will be.  I don't feel comfortable sharing what that goal is (yet), but just know I will for sure keep you posted on my progress.  I decided to take another session (my 3rd one) of Magical Manifesters to create a plan of action for this goal.

I previously shared my Resources for Positive Shifts where I list most of the tools which brought me to this point in my life. If you're looking for some change and clarity, this is a great place to start.

May the force be with us all! =)
